PROJECT MANAGER / HSE MANAGER

Role Summary

To provide oversight for the project safety involving the coordination of employees, subcontractors, material and equipment. Ensure that all our team is operating and working safely within the Project Safety Management structure and adhering to all government regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafts and submits all relevant safety documentation for projects (SWMS etc)
  • Develops and keeps all registers up to date. (Plant & Equipment Register (Fleetio), Electrical Register etc).
  • Understands and uses personal protective equipment, safe work practices, environmental stewardship practices and teamwork.
  • Conducts regular inspections, safety audits and hazard assessments of work locations, work groups, projects and individuals at the assigned job location
  • Identifies hazards and potential risks and assist operations staff with eliminating or mitigating those hazards
  • Conducts first level investigations of worksite accidents, injuries, prepares reports and assists with employee medical needs as required
  • Serves as core member of Tranex’s emergency response team at the work site
  • Provides training and mentoring in HSE related topics to Tranex staff
  • Assists the HSE Manager with site safety.

Measurement of Success (KPI’s)

  1. All Registers are kept up to date
  2. All safety documentation (SWMS) are maintained and all staff are signed on.
  3. SWMS Compliance Inspections
  4. SWMS Amendments & Updates
  5. Vehicle Compliance / Inspections
  6. Prestart & Toolbox Generation
  7. NIL Lost Time Injuries over the course of a project

Qualifications & Experience

  • Cert IV or Diploma in WHS
  • First Aid Accreditation
  • Training & Assessor Qualification
  • Drivers Licence
  • Civil plant tickets desirable

Working Environment

  • Extensive airline and automobile travel required
  • Work in an office and field environment
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines
  • Physically fit, able to work 10-12 hr days in the field
